He just couldn’t believe it. There was the object of his rampant desire. Tall and tawny. Glistening, rivulets of water running down a superbly sculpted body. Hard as granite and being basked in a golden glow of sunshine.
Desire raced through his veins. Hot and heavy. Making his limbs shudder with wants and needs.
Gods, a banquet for the eyes and body. ‘Dare I partake?’ The thought ran through his mind.
A decision made, follow though to be done. One foot in front of another. A hand reaching, daringly close. Caught by another.
A rapidly beating heart, a telltale smile on the lips of the banquet.
“Are you hungry?” A low, caressing voice penetrating the haze of desire.
“Yes”, a slight hesitation, then “for you.”
“Come and enjoy.”

Tao was so shocked by the answer that he was tongue-tied. The next thing he knew, another was caressing his tied tongue.
‘Ahh gods, he tastes so good. He feels so right.’ Tao thought. ‘Wait, oh gods, it feels so good. No, wait, we shouldn’t be doing this. Not now, not yet.’
Tao did one of the hardest things he would ever have to do. He pulled away from the banquet.
“Dar, we have to stop.” When he saw the question start to form on the BeastMaster’s lips, he placed gentle fingers there.
“Please, let me tend to your wounds, and then...”
“Then what, Tao? Just what do you have in mind?” The velvet tones were almost Tao’s undoing. They sent waves of heat through his limbs and dragged with perseverance at his will. ‘That voice will be my ultimate destruction yet.’
Stepping away, gathering his resolve around him like a protective cloak, Tao reached for his bag. He gestured to Dar to lay down so he could get a good look at Dar’s injuries.
Tao watched with deep concern etched in his green-brown eyes. Dar slowly laid himself down on the blankets that Tao had so carefully arranged. Even though he moved with great care, a moan slipped from his lips as he lay down.
“Argh, that hurts.” Dar said as he lay flat out.
His entire body was bare, even down to his feet. Tao feasted his eyes on the man lying there so passively . He could tell that Dar was in a lot of pain. It showed in the tightly closed eyes and the pinched lines around his mouth. Oh, the thought of that mouth and what Dar could do with that mouth literally brought Tao to his knees next to the prone man.
As Tao fell to his knees at Dar’s side, the BeastMaster’s eyes flew open. He started to rise when a hand placed itself on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you. Lie down and let me look at you.”
Oh, the temptation was great to just lay there and let Tao run those hands over all of his hurts and make them go away. But something was needed before the physical healing could begin.
“Tao, come to me. Please, let me ...” Dar started.
“Let you what, Dar? What do you need?” Tao queried, worried that the man beside him was hurting too much.
As Tao moved closer to the injured man, hands snaked behind his head and brought him down to receive a mind-jolting kiss. The kiss seemed to last forever when in actuality, it was a brief, intense moment.
“Thank you.” The words were breathy and heartfelt. “I needed that.”
For a moment, the Eiron scholar was stunned into silence. “Uhmm, you’re welcome. Anytime.” Tao turned back to his work. ‘What a way to ruin a man’s concentration. Now, what was I doing? Oh yes.’
“Dar, this should help with the pain. Drink it.” Tao handed Dar a gourd of foul smelling liquid. “I know, it smells awful, but it will help. Promise.” This last statement was delivered with one of Tao’s blinding smiles. As he reached to hold Dar’s shoulders so he could drink the tea, Dar flashed him a grin.
“You are too good to me, Tao.”
“I know, now drink the tea.” Tao’s tone of voice brooked no argument.
With a grimace at the foul taste, the BeastMaster did as he was bid, and drank the tea.
Tao gently laid him back on the blankets. “Now, let me take a closer look at you.” Seeing the injuries up close again made Tao tremble with remembered fear. Fear of losing the man he loved. Who would have ever thought that just one misstep could have nearly killed this man? This other half of himself, his soul mate, his lover, his life.
Tao thought back to how this had all started. They were foraging for their breakfast as they were walking back towards their camp. Dar and Tao were sparring with words about some insignificant issue. Something so trivial that at this moment, he couldn’t even remember what it was they were talking about. Something so silly that they were laughing and having way too much fun for two grown men.
Suddenly, just when they had caught their respective breaths from their last bout of laughter, Dar was falling out of sight.
How could this terror be happening on a path they have traversed for who knows how many times?
Tao could hear Dar’s body hitting trees and rocks as he plummeted to the bottom of the ravine. He could hear the grunts and exclamations of pain as the terrain tortured the body that dared to fall over it.
Tao raced to the edge of where Dar had fallen and frantically looked for the BeastMaster. “Dar! Dar! Can you hear me?” Tao’s voice echoed back to him. The was no answer from below.
As Tao made his way down the ravine, an orange streak went flying by him. “Ruh!” Tao was astonished to see the tiger. The last he knew, Ruh had left the men to go hunting, and that was early this morning.
When Tao reached the bottom of the ravine, he wasn’t prepared for the sight that awaited him.
Dar lay in a crumpled heap. His body was covered with bleeding cuts, scrapes and bruises. Ruh was gently nudging him with his regal head.
“Easy there, Ruh.” Tao cautiously approached the injured man. “Let me take a look at him.”
The tiger threw Tao a look that made the man take a step back.
“Ruh, you know that I wouldn’t hurt him. I love him just as much as you do. Maybe even more. Let me tend to him. Please Ruh.” Tao stood there with his hands out, pleading with the tiger to let him take care of Dar.
/Ruh, let Tao help me./ Dar ‘asked’ the tiger.
Ruh stepped away and let Tao reach Dar’s side. As Tao’s hands fluttered over the prone man’s body, Dar moaned and tried to move.
“Oh no you don’t. Lie still and let me see what you’ve done to yourself this time.” Tao helped Dar lay flat. Then, Tao’s skilled hands lightly probed and prodded. Even though he was as gentle as possible, Dar let a few moans and sharp hisses of pain escape.
“Gods, Dar, I don’t think there’s a place on your body that escaped unscathed.”
“I think you’re right, Tao. I hurt all over. “
“I don’t think anything’s broken. Do you think that you can stand? “ At Dar’s nod, Tao continued. “If you can make it to that stream, we can get you cleaned off. Here, let me help you.” Tao clasped his arm under Dar’s shoulder and helped him to stand. Dar swayed a moment, then righted himself. The two of them slowly made their way to the water. Tao removed Dar’s loincloth and undergarment. At Dar’s unspoken question, Tao shook his head.
“You know that this leather is a pain when it’s wet. I really don’t think that you’re in any condition to do anything right now anyway!”
To make his point, Tao glanced at Dar’s flaccid member, quietly resting in it‘s nest of golden curls. “See, not even a token attempt to rise to the occasion!” Tao looked at Dar’s face and gave a soft chuckle. “Sorry, lover. When you feel better, we’ll take care of that!”
With Tao’s help, Dar made it into the cooling waters. At first, there was a hiss of pain and shock at the temperature of the water, then, Dar sighed. “Ah, that feels good.”
Tao took a cloth and began to gently cleanse the numerous scraps and cuts that covered the body of his beloved. Tao lost count of how many injuries there were. Dar took the cloth from Tao and finished the job himself.
“I’ll meet you on the bank in a moment, Dar. Will you be alright by yourself?” Tao questioned.
Dar nodded and Tao went to prepare his herbs and salves. When he turned around, there Dar was, slowly walking out of the stream. Such a sight, it was enough to make a man swallow his tongue right there and then. Tao felt his cock harden to a point of agony.
Golden sunlight caressed the battered body that gingerly walked towards him. Tao thought that Dar looked like a banquet for the taking. And oh, how he would love to take him right now. Take him hard and fast to make the last of the fear and terror leave him. Make him feel whole again, not ripped to shreds as he was when Dar fell.
Dar caught the hungry look in Tao’s eyes.
“Are you hungry?” Dar asked, knowing that it wasn’t food the Eiron was desiring.
“Yes.” A slight hesitation, then “for you.”
“Then come and enjoy.”
Tao gave himself a mental and physical shake. Dar was in no shape to be doing anything other than lying down and letting Tao minister to his injuries. But, oh, the thought was so very, very tempting.
Dar tried to persuade with him a mind blowing joining of mouths, tongues and a undeniable strength that rubbed the Eiron’s stomach.
But for once, Tao was stronger than Dar and he pulled away. “Not now, Dar. Later, I promise. Please, lie down and let me look at you.”
At Dar’s raised eyebrow, Tao shook his head. “Not like that, idiot. Gods, you have a one track mind.”
Dar finally gave up the battle and laid himself gently down on the blankets Tao had arranged for him.
Oh, how it hurt to lay down! His body felt like Zad had spent days pounding on him. He also knew that soon the pain would be a fleeting memory, only showing up when he moved too quickly or too hard. Tao would make it all go away. Tao and those wonderful hands of his. Dar closed his eyes against the pain and let Tao have his way.
When Tao first laid his hands on Dar’s body, Dar thought that he would explode right there and then. Then the pain returned and his thoughts centered on that. That and Tao’s hands. Taking the pain and making it go away.
“Dar, can you turn over?” Tao whispered in his ear. “Easy, I’ll help you.”
“Good, because I don’t think I can do it by myself.” Dar felt as limp as a wilted leaf.
As Tao gently helped him roll over, Dar was again amazed at the strength of the other man. Laying now on his stomach, Dar tensed with the pain. It ruled his universe until Tao’s hands began their magic once again. As Tao slowly rubbed salves into the numerous cuts and bruises, Dar gradually relaxed and let the pain flow away. He fell asleep under Tao’s tender ministrations.
When Tao felt Dar lapse into slumber, he cautiously stopped tending his wounds and sat back on his heels. As his eyes drank his fill of the sight before him, his mind wandered back to what he first thought when Dar walked out of that stream, rivulets of water running down his body. The body that could do such wondrous things to his. A banquet for the body. A banquet to slack any hunger. A hunger that now raced through Tao like a famine. Oh, to be able to slack that hunger.
Tao’s hand reached out to caress a taunt buttock. Another hand joined the first. Caressing, over and around and then a sly finger reached to touch the tempting split of his crack. Tao stopped when he felt Dar quiver under his touch. As Dar settle back into sleep, Tao continued his explorations. As Tao’s hands explored the broad expanse of Dar’s back, buttock and thighs, Dar struggled to lie still and not give away the fact that he was now awake. Awake and very aroused. If it wouldn’t have hurt so much, Dar knew that he would roll over and capture those questing hands. So he gave in and let Tao have his way with him. Complete subjugation. He was Tao’s.
As if Tao knew what was on his mind, he reached over Dar’s back and whispered in his ear, “Dar, can I? Please? Would it hurt you too much?”
Dar felt that caress of words all the way down to his toes. “Tao, you won’t hurt me. Go ahead.”
Heady lust raced through Tao at Dar’s words. Gods, he was aching, just aching to make the prone man underneath him his. Tao quickly divested himself of his clothes. Bringing himself gently back down to the BeastMaster’s side, Tao’s fingers slowly caressed their way to Dar’s opening. Slick with salve, his questing fingers found their way in . Slowly, first one, then another. Stretching, preparing him for the final invasion. Nibbling love bites and kisses down Dar’s back, Tao relished the taste of the man who meant the world to him. When Dar started bucking back onto Tao’s fingers and arching his back, Tao knew the time was ripe. Positioning himself, Tao slowly entered the BeastMaster’s writhing body. Ah gods, so hot, so tight, so ready, so right.
With all the fear and terror rapidly being replaced by the sensations of surrounding heat, so tight, so right, Tao quickly felt his peak approaching. Reaching under to tightly clasp Dar’s pulsing member, Tao felt his own explosion start to erupt. With a mighty shout of Dar’s name, Tao gave himself over to the mighty sensations that raced through his blood and threatened to send him to oblivion.
Feeling Dar’s release wet his hand, Tao knew that they would be alright. No more fear, no more terror lived in the Eiron. Just love and a feeling of right. He slowly left the body of his lover and gently helped Dar lie down on the blankets.
“Dar?” Tao questioned. “Are you alright? I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
“Hmm?” Dar sounded as if he were on the verge of slumber. “No Tao, you didn’t hurt me. I feel like I could .....”
“Could what? Dar? What could you .....” Tao glanced down to the face he would never tired of and saw that Dar had pillowed his head in his arms and was asleep.
Tao found an extra blanket in his bag and lying next to Dar, covered them with it.
Looking for Ruh, Tao found him not far away. “Ruh, Dar needs to sleep. Watch out for us, will you?”
The mighty tiger gave a yawn and shook his head.
“Hope we didn’t bother you to much!” Tao shook his head at the tiger. “Honestly, tigers!”
Placing his arm carefully over Dar’s back, Tao cuddled close and closed his eyes. Sleep quickly overtook him and the two men slept.
